Advent & Christmas

Christmas

A warm welcome to the Whitewater Benefice. We have a busy schedule of activities in Advent and the lead up to Christmas. We would love you invite you to to join us. Whatever your age or family circumstances, there should be something for you.  We have listed all our Advent/Christmas Activities and Services here.

Our theme this year is The Joy of Christmas, this is the good news of the birth of a baby in Bethlehem. We sing in church, Joy to the World the Lord is come! There is also the joy of celebrating with friends and family, of events such as the Carol's Around the Tree held at St John's on the Sunday 14th of December, which is an event in Hook for the community to come along, sing carols and eat BBQ!

O ComeDuring Advent we have a number of Advent Studies, and some of our small groups will be using the Advent books in their usual groups.  For advent we are using: O Come, Emmanuel. There are also a series of reflections available in the Everyday Faith app which will be available from 1st to 24th December.  Many of our small groups will be using materials from this book, but there are  two Advent Courses starting on Thursday 27th November from 7:30pm - 9pm on Zoom or Saturday 29th November from 10:30am - 12noon at St John’s Church, Hook, with tea, coffee and mince pies. All are welcome.  For more information, please contact Jonathan Bushman or the Benefice Office.

If you live in Hook, Heckfield, Mattingley or Rotherwick, you may have received a copy of one of our Christmas Cards.  They list some of the key services and/or events.  They are useful to pass on to friends or neighbours, to pin on a notice board or even stick on your fridge.  If you would like to print a copy click on the links below, or pick up a copy from inside one of the churches.  You are more than welcome to attend any of the services or events in any of the Hook or HMR churches.
